Meeting the Family

Gillian had her first guests last week and she met the whole family. My mom came into town first and Gillian had a week with her and then my dad, brother and sister in law came in for the weekend. We all had a wonderful time and I'm so happy that they all were able to spend time with her at this age. The week started off with our first wine dinner (have to start the kids learning early) and Gillian was wonderful and didn't make a peep all night long. My mom became an expert in baby bathing and calming the fussy baby at 6 AM. My mom and I taught her the finer points of shopping, which Gillian slept through, and she topped the week off with her first birthday celebration with her uncle. The only bad part about the visit was everyone trying to get back to their respective homes, once that snow started it just didn't want to stop and Roanoke being so small there's not a lot of choices for alternate flights. Everyone eventually made it home safe and sound albeit a few days later than expected. The snow was beautiful and I think Gillian enjoyed her first snowfall even though she couldn't make a snow angel.
