Let the Triathlon training begin!

So I've committed to do a triathlon on May 1st and it's time to get my bum in gear and I feel ready; I've got my mind ready, the gym membership, I've borrowed a bike - I'm all set. The first day I'm to run for 20 minutes and swim for 15 minutes, relatively easy and I'm not too stressed about it but it never happened. Gillian is teething, coughing, snotting, gumpy and I wasn't comfortable subjecting child watch to that. The plan changed to go Monday at 6 am and run and then Scott and I have set up weekly swimming lessons on Monday nights and Monday's are to be a rest day anyway so easy, done and still on track. Again, 6 am didn't happen. Gillian spiked a fever and was up and down all night long and 6 am just seemed a bit silly at that point. On to plan C, which is to go for the run tonight before the swimming and hope I don't pass out on the treadmill!

I'll also be doing an 8k on March 20th in Virginia Beach called the Shamrock Marathon and the best part of this trip is that it's an all girls trip! We've made bets on this run and if I don't complete the run without walking I have to clean both of my sister-in-laws homes and I hate cleaning my own home much less someone elses! Wish me luck that the 5 miles come easy!

As for the fam, we're all doing very well. Gillian just recovered from a double ear infection which we never knew she had -  no fussing, no fever, nothing! Now she's teething again and now we have the fussing and fever. Hopefully it won't last much longer! She's trying to walk but as soon as she thinks about taking a step she flops onto the ground and crawls off. I'm sure she'll be off and running before I know it and before I want her to! She moves up to the big girl class at daycare next week, which tells me she's growing up way too fast!

Scott is opting to have knee surgery on Friday the 5th, he has a calcium build up on the front of his knee which makes it painful to run and/or bike. Bascially, they're going to go in and shave it off and it's a quick out patient kind of thing and should be up and moving around by Tuesday, so I get to play nurse Jenn for the weekend (insert evil laugh!). He should recover quickly and easily, my only concern is him being in the house all weekend and not having the ability to leave. He doesn't do well cooped up for 1 day much less an entire weekend! That's all the news for now, I'll try to post another update after the first week of tri-training and Scott's surgery. Have a great week!
